The BikeHub Weight Challenge 2020 Spreadsheet as always diligence and hard-work pays off in the end.. so those of us who work hard to maintain their lifestyle wins.. lets all be winners this year. The Guy in Pink Posted December 28, 2019 Share Well done in setting it up before the new year begins! In 2019 I maintained my weight steady with a BMI between 22 and 23 for 11 months, but alas my mobility has been restricted from the beginning of December and the weight has climbed sharply in the last 10 days.I may have to sign up for the 2020 weight loss challenge if I don't get moving again quickly. FirstV8 Posted December 29, 2019 Share I had a great 2018 being the top loser and hope to do same this year ( next week will tell ) i had a good extra christmas cake and chocolates so far but have put in some good training sessions since the 26th . I've got 3 days to get another 200 km in to hit my 1000km goal and hopefully will have ridden off the extra kg or two . If i reach my goal this year im not participating in 2020 . WaynejG Posted January 1, 2020 Share So after ending 2019 slightly heavier than when it started, I will try again. Third year at this challenge, so maybe three is a charm [emoji1] WeekendWarrior80, JohanDiv and BigDL
SpecialK Posted January 2, 2020 Share So after ending 2019 slightly heavier than when it started, I will try again. Third year at this challenge, so maybe three is a charm [emoji1] I'm in exactly the same boat. needing surgery and being off the bike for the last third of the year also didn't help. but back to riding more regularly now, and silly season with all the treats is now over, back to cleaning up the diet and hopefully the scale will move in the right direction soon. Gravity Posted January 2, 2020 Share im also back in after a good couple of years ignoring these threads. my continual ignorance of my weight is starting to show in my BP/cholesterol etc the tide needs to turn in 2020. BigDL

Robbie Stewart Posted January 2, 2020 Share I signed up in 2019, and properly fell of the bandwagon, mainly due to work.Hopefully this year is better, seeing as I ended 2019 with a nett gain of 2.4kgs for the year. Grease_Monkey Posted January 2, 2020 Share I'm in.... again. Had some good losses this year, but gained again towards the end of the year after slipping a disc (again). I have a kiddo due in August, so this year feels like do or die for me in terms of throwing off the extra kgs - it definitely will not happen with a new born in the house. For some motivation I have some riding goals:- 24hrs of Oak Valley at the start of Feb- Half 36One in April (sub 9hours goal)- EWC series again - placed well this year and had a massive improvement over 2018 season - but that was due to some good technical progression, not fitness. I won't put down what position I'm aiming for, but it's in my head- 5000km total distance for the year with 125,000m elevation As for the weight, goal is 85kg by the time the kiddo arrives (103kg now), but this year I'll just focus on better eating and the riding goals above - the weight should follow. Oh, and most important goal: don't slip a disc again. I have a tendency to lose weight, get lekker fit, and then get complacent with my back, slip a disc, and then fall off the bandwagon coz I feel sorry for myself. JohanDiv Posted January 6, 2020 Share After hitting my goals in September 2019(85kg and a sub 5hour Karoo 2 Coast) I completely switched off and gained almost all the weight back that I lost in the first 9 months of the year! I hate myself for that. Reached my 6000km cycling distance goal and ended on 6600km for 2019. Elevation goal of 100 000m reached with a day or two to spare. Reached 200km running goal. So cycling wise my most successful year so far since I started cycling in September 2017, weight loss wise not so successful, but wouldn't say it was a complete failure. Dropped a total of 1kg in 2019, but I'm a lot stronger on the bike and definitely look and feel a bit better than a year ago. September 2017: 125.1kgSeptember 2018: 104kgSeptember 2019: 84.8kgAt start of 2020: 96.8kg!! Hopefully 3 or 4 of those kgs is just a food baby that I can drop quickly within a week or two. 2020 Goals: 1) 85kg in March and a Sub 3h30min Argus (Maybe Sub 3hour depending on seeding closer to event)2) 80kg in August and a Sub 11hour Trans Baviaans.3) Maintaining 75-80kg by September and a Sub 4hour Karoo2Coast.4) Maintaining 75-80kg by the end of December Holidays.5) 7000km cycling distance goal.6) 120 000m elevation goal.7) 500km running. Good luck to everybody giving it another shot this year!! WeekendWarrior80, Fattyboom, Mopkop and 1 other
WeekendWarrior80 Posted January 6, 2020 Share Like WaynejG, I'm in it for a 3rd year as well. I know what I need to do to lose weight, although as soon as I'm a fraction close to my goal weight, I don't always maintain the diet I'm on, and I don't always stick to the exercise program I put myself on. Weighed myself on 31 December 2019, 96.2kg, and started the diet the same day. Exercise wise, so far I've gone for a run, and did a Tae Bo session the same day. Will weigh myself tomorrow to see how much I've lost since last Tuesday. Grease_Monkey, WaynejG, JohanDiv and 1 other
