Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 19, 2020 Share Had the ring and crank at Solomons, they were also clueless as to what now...That's not entirely surprising, knowing of Solomons' reputation when it comes to that sorta thing...
shaper Posted February 19, 2020 Share That's not entirely surprising, knowing of Solomons' reputation when it comes to that sorta thing... Have to disagree with you there, Mohammed in woodmead is pretty knowledgeable and has helped me out on a few occasions. As you are based in CT and have probably not personally used them, i would refrain from jumping on hearsay!! Glad to hear it's been rectified! DieselnDust

RobertWhitehead Posted February 19, 2020 Share Are the bolts you have from a 1x, 2x or 3x? The 1x bolts are the same diameter as the 2x but just shorter so the 2x bolts won't work for a 1x. Kiwi is the man and will sort you out in a flash. https://www.rapide.co.za/product/rapide-single-chainring-bolt-set-of-4/ Is this your crank: https://www.evobikes.co.za/shiman0-m8000-xt-1x11-crankset-175mm.html If it is then I am 100% sure that the bolts from Rapide works. The bolts I have (ones that came off the original chainring) do not fit into the oval chainring, they are too big. If I go smaller they do not fit into the crank??? RobertWhitehead Posted February 19, 2020 Share Their PTA branch is still pretty useless with a tool of any kind but they do offer some good deals and I do not mind supporting them in that way. For anything mechanical however I will fiddle with it myself until I have either messed it up properly or fixed it So keep up with the times and not hang onto old news from 5-6 years ago!! shaper Posted February 19, 2020 Share I think your chainring is for an earlier crank and not the M8000 Should be a OV96XT8000/32BK https://www.lamacycles.com/en/absolute-black/mountain-chainrings/oval-narrow-wide/absolute-black-oval-xt-m8000-mt700-assymetrical-chainring-n-w What's written on your chainring? Balooba Posted February 20, 2020 Share Thanks for all the advice and ideas. I made contact with the seller (fellow hubber) and he will swop me a chainring with no thread in He will make that chainring someone else's problem... shaper and RobertWhitehead
