pienaaradriaanj@gmail.com Posted February 20, 2020 Share Hi, I got an old Cannondale F500 that I want to restore. The HeadShock is beyond repair. Can it be replaced with a standard suspension fork, and has anyone done this before? Thanks!
RobertWhitehead Posted February 20, 2020 Share I'm going to take a guess and say "yes" . I must also add that I have never owned a F500 and or tried to replace the headshock
DieselnDust Posted February 20, 2020 Share yes you can replace the headset with a reducer from Omnico or cannondaleexpert.com
droo Posted February 20, 2020 Share Adapter headset + standard fork and you're good to go. DieselnDust
MORNE Posted February 20, 2020 Share you dont need a special cannondale reducer or headset. cane creek makes everything you need to fit a standard fork in an oversized canondale headtube. been there...done that. DieselnDust and DawieO

MORNE Posted February 21, 2020 Share Combine that kit with a Lefty4all and put a Lefty on it!LOL..as a matter of fact thats exactly what i did. took a headshock off a trail 1 bike back then...got a Project 321 lefty for all steerer tube for a carbon PBR lefty fork, plonked a cane creek headset in there....and i had myself what was called the cannondale "bad boy" back then. Later swopped it out for a rockshock fork and still used the same headset. looked VERY similar to this. all blacked out...although the one in the pic is the 2019 version. you basically built 700c wheels onto it and made it a badass looking hybrid. DieselnDust Posted February 21, 2020 Share The F series hardtail doesn't need a lefty4all kit to fit a Lefty. Just a Lefty and a headshok steerer tube. If op wants to go this way I may have a steerer tube that isn't being used. Was saving it for a project but DawieO
