I do see where you're coming from. And must be even harder on Mariske but life at times is like that. Pressure on Candice is now immense because many have the same questions you're asking now, why we sending the rider who is being beat-really hope she has the mental strength to go and deliver because people are merciless if she comes back having been hit. Shame.

Yeah and Cherie and Candice DNF...

Somethings very wrong with our Olympic selection

Candice broke her chain on the start after about 10m.

Cherie's 1st real XC type after a very turmoil type collarbone break in Feb.

Brilliant ride by Jenny today.. Timed her attack to perfection. Lecomte is absolutely in another class at the moment.

I wish they would get a French translator for this post interview though she clearly can't really speak much English and it's frustrating to see her struggle through it

They should interview her in French

I mean that's what I'm saying... We're watching an English feed so the translator would have to translate for us though

Ditto, or employ people with some appropriate second language skills, but lets face it, the bar is low.

I also find the formulaic questions asked as cringe worthy.

Just feel when the racing starts, the other lads always have another level. Flueckiger and Cink off, Lap 3/6. Alan 7th. Mate tells me you add Pidcock and MvdP to that he's ninth. Avancini he's tenth. Or is he being too harsh? ????

I'm fully behind the ladies but form must be found before Tokyo-there will be hell to pay with that humid weather out there.
