For the same reason your child want to wear a Spider-Man costume...

Just another form a playing hero in you mind. I agree with you in that, if you dont pay me, why will I do free advertising for you

To me Dorma is just a supplier of goods we use on building sites .... damn good products.  I specify a LOT of their products on our projects.

Aaaaahhhhh ..... and the penny drops ....  :whistling:

Did some googling .... I see that Dorma have been putting a LOT of sponsorship into cycling.

Here is a situation.

Helped my brother buy he's first Mtb from Bikehub. Found a bike, full carbon duel that was resprayed. Had the seller take the bike for a check up at a local bike shop to check if the frame has been repaired, and if so, if all was good. Verdict was that there was nothing wrong nor was it repaired and the respray was pure cosmetic. Only problem was that the handlebar was cracked from overtightening, but a discount was given for this.

Received the bike and the first thing I noticed was the frame was repaired, and very badly as the frame was showing paint cracks on the outside of the seat tube. If you shine a flashlight into the seat tube, you could see the repair job, and that the frame is busy cracking again.

Seller was very surprised by this, but gave us a full refund and got he's bike back. So no problem here.

Now...the bike is back up for sale with no mention of the frame or handlebar crack. Did he forget to mention it?

He has a responsibility to share this information. Repaired carbon is a big deal and even if done well some people will still not want to own it. Maybe give him the benefit of the doubt and send him a message about it. If the ad is not updated please share it here...maybe there are interested buyers reading this thread who deserves to know

Why would anyone pay to buy clothing that is an advertising item for a company ?

This is not a "fashion item" ....

What am I missing ??

Jerseys are expensive. I don't really care too much about doing some free advertising if I can get a quality jersey for a good price. Not that I'm interested in buying a pink jersey made by Enjoy. But if this was an Assos jersey for R700, I'd be willing to do some free advertising provided the jersey looks cool and the brand isn't something I object to.

Also... looking fast is step one to going fast, so looking sponsored is maybe worth like 10 or 15 watts.

I used to share mistakes ive made on certain items just as a headsup to potential buyers making the same mistakes. Like the Hope Head doctor headset plug that doesnt fit in every kind of fork steerer. Its a relatively expensive mistake for some blingbling. All they do is remove the advert and repost it lol.
