Snake people - what is this...

Just found this lil fella wandering across my stoop and wondered what type it was. He obviously a juvenile but he was quite grumpy when being collected and had a couple of cracks at the glove I was wearing. 

 

Dark charcoal grey with a light grey to milky underbelly

P.s...Gloves are about as useful as tits on a bull... And if that was a stiletto you would be screaming right now

 

Probably a brown water snake... Actually.. No idea

Think it is a "rooilippie". Think the English name is Herold snake.

I could be wrong!

Actually looks like red lipped herald... They are quite fiesty too

Adult photo. As with most snakes there is a lot of colour variation in different areas.

The can be a little aggressive when handled.

Quite common by us on the plot.

Probably just a Common Brown Water Snake. Photo’s a bit unclear. But a pinkish belly will be the giveaway.
