Bike24.com is quite fun for playing this game

or

Wrenchscience.com

or even https://www.competitivecyclist.com/

I was playing around a Tallboy 4 build with

Zipp 3Zero Moto wheels & Goodyear tyres

Pike Ultimate Fork (130mm)

AXS groupset & dropper post

Fabric saddle

G2 RSC brakes

Truvativ bar & stem

If you really get carried away, you can do themes like Shimano/Fox or Sram only. Or mix & match with Hope/Thomson etc.

There are some nice ideas on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfjzrJwlvxumk0oMWNx7fXQ

Santa cruz reserve 30 rims on onyx hubs

XTR 12 spd drive

Hope tech3 X2 brakes

Fox 34 stepcast 120mm

Raceface carbon cockpit and probably A bikeyoke dropper

I'd probably stare at it as much as i ride it

Middle one is the color option I'd go for but If they bring one out in their classic orange I'd buy it in  A heartbeat

id probably build one of those 4kg ish hill climb bikes just for the technical challenge and to admire all the carbon porn afterwards.

Then id build the craziest DH/enduro bike you can for similar reasons, and i mean something that will make what the pro's run look like toys.

Then after i got it out of my system and dealt with the buyers remorse,  I'll build a nice mid range bike I can smash everyday anywhere.

I think'd like to go with this Caminade Chill Easy ti / steel mix.

Their builds come with Ohlins which is a good choice as I've never had them and a coil front and rear would be pretty epic as the lil' yellow O is quite pimp but an alternative would be Fox 36 Grip2 up front and Fox X2 rear for air options.

If I was a colour whore then I'd just spec everything that hope makes in team greens that would link trick but where is the fun in that.

Parts on my list would be:

- Wheels: We are one Composites Union Carbon rims laced to Hope hubs (add in the best brass nipples and double butted spokes and built by Droo / Stoke)

- Brakes: I'd really love Cura 4 pots as I loved the 2 pots and they were just right for me but I think it'd have to be a set of trickstuff Maximas if money no object. 200+ rotors front and back.

- Pedals: Spez' Boomslang

- Bar and stem: We are One Composites 'Da Package'

- Groupo: I'd fly to Italy (post virus) and commission a Campagnolo 1 off MTB groupset, mechanical of course. With the 8 months+ of R&D test extensively across europe's mountain playgrounds, choppered in and out by the my own uber air. Failing that I'd prob' got for an XTR 12 over a SRAM as I never feel as stoked about having a SRAM set on my bike as I do with a Shimano one. No real reason for that tho. Maybe throw in a nice Hope crank for fun and ditch the XTR one.

- Seatpost: Bike Yoke Revive

- Grips: Deity Enoki bit a tad shorter than standard

- BB & Headset: Some hell ceramic thing but has to be low maintenance.

- Chain: Thought about that one Wiggins used for the hour record that was a work or art n' science but then decided I'd take the one that was bomb proof and I never have to hack with at the side of a trail.

- Tyres: Depends on the terrain but I'd love a proper sized 2.6 Spez Eliminator up front and a custom made Spez Slaughter out back. Custom as they only make 2.3 and I want a 2.6 in a case that isn't quite a Blk Dmnd casing.
- Extras: One up EDC, charge saddle, braided hoses, MRP ramp in the fork, Shockwiz if I went air bouncy bits,

Think that is about it...

Custom titanium frame nice long low slack not cleaned up so you can still see the blue/purple of the welding. Hardtail of course ????

Sram AXL group should fit in nicely,

Santa Cruz Reserve rims on purple Chris Kings,

Shimano Saint brakes with purple Hope rotors,

Santa Cruz 35mm 810mm carbon bar with purple Hope 45mm stem,

Rockshox AXL dropper to keep cockpit clean,

Maxxis Minion skinwall tyre's,

Fox 34 kashima 120-130mm travel with the custom decals,

ESI purple extra chunky grips.

I can see this beautiful trail shredder in my head I am so excited I can't get this stocking over my head on my way to the bank.

Celeste Bianchi Aria, Record 12 sp and those gunmetal coloured Shamal wheels.

Also, it would have to be rim brakes.

Provided you have a job after this with a little left over each month, it is possible to build your dream bike with serious discipline - only issue is if technology changes - each month buy 1 part - sometimes things are tight, maybe buy the grips or the tape.

I did this over 18 months and my dream parts are now waiting for the frame

The only drawback is that the dream bike gets a middle aged mid packer in the deal

Zerode Katipo - Pinion C1.9XR Gearbox/Belt Drive

Onyx hubs laced to Zipp 3zero Moto rims + Cush Core

Rockshox Lyric & Super Deluxe Ultimates - 160F/R

Code RSC Brakes

OneUp V2 dropper as close to 210mm drop as possible

Schwalbe MM & HD SuperGravity/Soft

Spank Oozy Trail 780 Vibrocore bar & Split 35 stem

Ergon GA2 grips & SM Pro saddle

Crankbrothers Mallet E pedals

...if I had time for R&D

-Grind the brake hose mount tabs off, strip all the paint for a raw carbon/clear coat finish, route the rear brake internally.

-Go full wireless. Figure out a way to electronically shift the Pinion box and slap on an AXS dropper.

Ah, the good old dream build. I've often wondered what I'd buy if I won the Lotto millions!

Quite simple to me really.

Previous generation Cannondale Supersix Evo frame in navy blue with custom decals

Meilenstein wheels, maybe skinwall tyres, if not, GP 5000s, with latex tubes

DA9100 Di2 groupset (silver crank) incl pedals, ceramic bearings all-round

KMC Gold chain

Full integrated cockpit, with bar tape colour to match (probably Lizard Skin or Supacaz)

Saddle - whatever is comfy

Carbon seatpost, whichever is lightest, probably one of those tiny shock absorbing ones

Supacaz carbon bottle cages

Stages or 4iiii double sided power meter

Garmin 530 (1030 just too big)
