JacBrand Posted July 13, 2020 Share I have a Cannondale Habit with a Rock Shox Recon fork and Formula hubs. The rear is a 142 x 12 mm thru axle and the fork is a 100 x 15 mm thru axle. The thru axles are different brands (front is KCNC and rear Formula)I am keen to replace both with stealth type axles. Are all 142 x 15 mm and 100 x 12 mm thru axles compatible, or are they bike / fork specific?

The fork will be easy to figure out as RS use a 1.5 pitch and a replacement axle usually specifies if it's a RS replacement. The 12mm rear axles differ. Some have a 45 degree bevel, some are flat and, the pitch as well as overall length. So measure your length, check the bevel/flat lever end and then google the thread pitch. That way you can get the right one JacBrand
droo Posted July 13, 2020 Share There are about as many through axles as there are headset standards. Fork you'll need a Rockshox Maxle Stealth 100mm, rear you'll need a bevelled Syntace. hansolo Posted July 13, 2020 Share Really handy that manufacturers make guides like this, One-Up has a similar one on their website. I thinks something like the SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger is a step in the right direction, it has M12x1 thread and the idea is to be compatible across a number of bikes. I mean there's that one that even sells a different hanger depending on whether you are running SRAM or Shimano for crying out loud [emoji848]

Myth Posted July 14, 2020 Share Its like Cannondale does EVERYTHING different just for the sake of being different. In afrikaans its the oke who is always "dwars". (And I own a couple of 'dales so I think I'm justified to bitch about this). batmobile
100Tours Posted July 14, 2020 Share Actually my 'dale matches my pyga/syntace and my specialised gravel bike (threadwise at least). The Trek is the misfit.
