Moving towards LHS barrier, Sagan trying to come around him: Morkov now in front of Sagan on LHS barrier: Sagan checking sprint due to Morkov moving closer to barrier: I would feel a bit pissed if I was Sagan. Maybe Cav would still have been quicker than him, but that doesn't make it okay for Morkov to move across the entire road and pinch him towards the barrier And the old Cavendish is definitely back..... ####er

Thereafter there is a rest day and hopefully he can recuperate. The best he can probably do in this tour is to make it to the end. He will draw a lot of inspiration from the comeback made by Mark Cavendish who showed that the odds can be defied even at the highest levels. Andymann Posted July 2, 2021 Share The best part about Cav doing so well this year is I finally know now how to pronounce Deceuninck properly. Luckily not the two tours of Spain it took to get me to say Vuelta correctly but still. Patchelicious, dsw and peetwindhoek

Typically a "victory" solute is different each time for a sprinter. His chain is off the chainring in the 2021 pic. Must of come off as he rolled over the line and stopped sprinting. Also what is classic Cav is on his 1st win and rightfully so he was emotional and teared up. 2nd win interview he was cocky and typical Cav. Been following him and as crazy as he comes across as, he is tough as nails. Tim Wellens and Thomas De Gent also need to do something like this. Their ride a few years back was also pretty epic but this trumps theirs by far. DJR, FootballingCyclist, justinafrika and 1 other
Vetplant Posted July 2, 2021 Share Don't be caught out with the early start today due to the length of the stage. They roll out at 11h00. Mark James
