blinx Posted November 11, 2020 Share Hi hubbersI am in the market for a road bike, find the two I like, first seller doesnt bother responding to messages, then decides not to sell.Find second bike yesterday, message seller, i ask questions and happy to purchase the bike now sends a message deciding not to sell. Why waste our time guys? We want to support members but it seems we get taken for stupids. Dont think I need to name and shame because before i could rate them they delete the adverts. Not sure if this has happened to anybody else. Thanks

blinx Posted November 11, 2020 Share Guess what happened now, Sais Joubert that was selling the Scott bike I liked cancels on me this morning. He had it advertised for a week or more for R13k. Here is his first message: Hi Sorry i made last decision not to sell the bike anymore I told him i am going to give a bad rating on BH he then says its ok. Now he sends me this message:If you willing to buy the bike for 15k you can still come view it ???? What do you guys think? Bad seller behavior or scammer? Bad seller behavior or scammer? it's a negotiation, you're both adults. if you leave a review saying he increased the price but you still bought it, then that's the truth so there's no issue. if he undervalued the bike and he got lots of interest then he can increase the price. bit of a d885 move but if you're prepared to pay the new price then that is what the bike is worth. WaynejG Posted November 11, 2020 Share I would not buy it at R15k. Never heard of a seller negotiating upwards. Patensie and BigDL

'Dale Posted November 11, 2020 Share Sais Joubert seems to be using some sales baiting strategy. You know when the salesman draws the interest of the customer, declares that the product became unavailable at the last minute (sometimes it is just out of stock) and then aims to upsell and 'score'. Swak.
EddieV Posted November 11, 2020 Share I’ve had to pay more too once (maybe twice- price went up after initial post (alert)). I really wanted it – so I paid, I could have said no – thus was my decision. I’ve been offered more on occasion too, but once I conclude a sale it’s done unless the buyer pulls out, which is ok too. Sometimes people make mistakes, or change their minds, it’s life. How many times have we stood with our goodies in a queue at a shop and then decided to put it down again? IMO … As long as we don’t sell stolen goods or undeclared broken parts … . Edited November 11, 2020 by EddieV

If they had said there were other people interested in the bike, then fair, negotiate. (Adults should also know how to communicate....) Otherwise this persons taking sheeet.
