Knersboy Posted December 17, 2020 Share The cleats and rims ones bother me the most. But hey back in the day all bike computers were called Cateyes, and floor pumps were called track pumps. Bateleur1 Posted December 17, 2020 Share Front fork...... As apposed to what exactly? The rear fork? In all fairness, after a peleton crash you might actually have rear fork as well. Fubar, Hairy, DR ◣◢ and 1 other

DieselnDust Posted December 17, 2020 Share Not sure when these became the same thing ... The lower cage is a Jockey pully cage and the wheels are jockey pulley wheels. These are accepted engineering terms. However the whole assembly is a Derailleur so there's that Cluster instead of cassette. Rear cassette... have yet to see one on the front. Back in the day when we were riding 6 sprockets on the back and all were fixed together and the freebody screwed into the hub it the sprockets were call a sprocket set. Then Shimano came up with a system where we could change an individual sprocket to tailor the gear ratios to your own liking it became known as a Sprocket cluster. at the same time the freebody was built into the hub and a 7th sprocket added. So "cluster" became the generic name. This goes back to the mid to late 80's Or BM (before Millennials) Hairy, ChrisF, Underachiever and 6 others
