MORNE Posted December 17, 2020 Share In the days of quill stems, I heard many guys call them goose necks. Oh, and it's a saddle, not a seat. But the why is it called a seatpost? Lol Hairy, TNT1 and LongDonkey

Long Wheel Base Posted December 17, 2020 Share There also seems to be a very common misconception that biopace was the same as the new oval shaped chain rings.

MORNE Posted December 17, 2020 Share In the days of quill stems, I heard many guys call them goose necks. Oh, and it's a saddle, not a seat. Also, fun fact - it’s apparently also only a quill stem if it has the 45* sliding bolt bit at the bottom vs some that use an expander with slots. Quill came from the bottom bit’s resemblance to quill pens. TNT1

PhilipV Posted December 17, 2020 Share The correct spelling is Aurgust.Gauranteed that the user of that word has never picked up a copy of the Cape Argus. Or probably any English newspaper. Long Wheel Base and TNT1

Thomo Posted December 17, 2020 Share Cockpit - not sure what it's meant to describe?Apparently the following: "The cockpit components are the bits that bring the groupset, frame and wheels together to form a bike. These components are easy to change to fine tune your comfort or bring some extra bling to your ride." Or is it just the cut-out on some saddles.?
