Derailleur - ontspoorder, so I guess it’s voorste and agterste ontspoorders.

I’m not even that surprised, Afrikaans is such a descriptive language, half the worlds you can thumb suck by just looking at what something does and calling it how it is lol.

Janee, Afrikaans is vrek snaaks as dit by al die name kom.

Een van die skool terme wat ek onthou is anglisisme (weet nie of die spelling reg is nie). Dus kan ek "Bicycle" vertaal in "Baie-Sukkel". Of soos wat ek hom ken as 'n "Martel-pyp".

Die "draad" het nou my dag gemaak!

Crank - Kruk.

I wish bicycles had starters - knormoer. (Maybe e-bikes count?)

But I guess a knormoer can also be that old cranky guy you know being a tool on the trails haha

'n Kruk is 'n ding waarmee mens loop as jy 'n been besering het ...   :whistling:

Eerder, "Trap arm".

Ek het altyd gedink dat die "suspension" n veeringstelsel is

Nee sorry, daai een werk nie vir my nie.

Unfortunately "suspensie" is the only thing that comes to mind.

Chamois when the reality is 99% have never ridden with a pair of chamois padded cycling shorts.

In fairness, that 99% refers to a "shammy". :D
