People expect way to much for second hand bikes, change my mind. Lets have a conversation. 

 

E.g Saw a old SL4 S-Works floating around for 60K... to mention one example,

I dont understand.

 

You want a bike, but dont want to pay.  So you say it costs to much second hand.

 

If it costs to much dont buy it ! And dont complain either, because then you want it, so buy it. Or dont buy it if you dont have the money. And then dont complain either.

 

If they seller gets no offers, he will bring his price down.

Oh look life is expensive and I cant have everything I want. Like I really want champagne, but cant.

things are only worth what people will pay for them. there is no such thing as too mush or too little. 

Give this this man woman person a bell's voucher. The LBS* is still under lockdown

Maybe you expect too little from second hand bikes?

Free market principle applies - nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything.

 

That said - the second hand market (specifically the trainer market) has gone up here recently. We're in a high demand and low supply situation so prices climb methinks.

Supply and demand.... Economics 101. I bought one of my bikes, a 2018 Scott Scale 960 for R14k at the end of 2018 brand new. Sure I can sell it at close to purchase price now. The world is disfunctional at the moment and stock is running low. Remember the exchange rate has a ripple effect. You do not notice a drop immediately, it comes with time.
