Saving CCTV footage to the Cloud

Good Day Hubbers,

I have a Dahua XVR and it works great. My PTZ camera is easily controlled via my cell .

My only problem is , how do I save video footage to the cloud.

On the screen it gives me the FTP option,so I need to know what is the optimum settings.

For example , what do I choose as my  File Length (MB) and Image Upload Interval (Sec).

Any advice would be appreciated, the call center and sales dude was kinda hopeless.

TIA

Cheers

So why do you want to save footage to the cloud?

Have you got the bandwidth required? what quality are you wanting to store to the cloud? Higher quality more bandwidth.

How much storage are you prepared to pay for, or do you have your own FTP server.

What is wrong with keeping the footage local (most cost effective) and just viewing remotely like everyone else and do incident backups.

Also for this to work in SA you are going to have to make sure your internet upload speed is adequate or it will never work.

Check out this bandwidth calculator

https://www.jvsg.com/storage-bandwidth-calculator/

1080p @ 16 fps (what I would say is the minimum default is normally 25fps) recording motion 35% will be about 10GB storage per camera per day.

The reason I am exploring this option is in the event of the theft of the DVR....thank-you for the responses.
