RABUBI Posted March 8, 2021 Share Good morning. Quick question. I am converting one of my mountainbikes to a gravel bike. I have 105 Hydraulic brake levers, but without the Calipers. Are they compatible with normal Shimano MTB calipers? thanks HP
EddieV Posted March 8, 2021 Share I had the exact question ito Ultegra hydraulic STI's and MTB calipers. I couldn't find any info. Here's a chart with info on road component compatibility that I found whist searching. https://productinfo.shimano.com/#/com?acid=C-499&cid=C-453 In the end I ordered the Ultegra calipers from bike24 (germany) ... did not want to take the risk of brake failure... Monark Posted March 8, 2021 Share I used ultegra hydro with XT calipers without any hassle.
100Tours Posted March 8, 2021 Share same - ultegra hydro with XT calipers, and on a tandem with 200mm rotors so they have been well tested. I have heard some complaints when mixing shimano levers with non-shimano calipers

Karakoram Posted May 8, 2021 Share I just converted my gravel/touring bike (Trek 920) to a flat bar setup. I have the bike's original drop bar fitted with SRAM S700 Doubletap brake - shifter lever set (with calipers) for a 2 x 10 drive train, available for sale. The parts are very new, only done 900km. Asking price R3,000. Let me know if you are interested.
NC Posted May 8, 2021 Share I was able to fit Apex levers to SRAM MTB calipers. They worked great.
