Markus66 Posted March 15, 2021 Share Hi Guys, Getting an upgrade and was looking into stand-alone (i.e. not with household content) bike insurance. The value of the new bike will be a about R65k. Would like to get some advice on the best companies to use? Thanks

Steady Spin Posted March 15, 2021 Share Clearly the OP’s wife handles the insurance and he doesn’t want her to know what his bike is really worth. Markus66 and FirstV8
Patchelicious Posted March 15, 2021 Share Copy n Paste: “Get a broker to help” I would suggest you call Galileo, their CEO and MD are both big cyclist, are both super lekker people and they sponsor cycling teams, so it’s good for us to support them. Dappere Posted March 15, 2021 Share You can get stand alone bicycle insurance through: MiWayDiscovery (if you have a medical aid with them)CyclesureKingPrice (if you have car insurance with them)OmniSureJaSure (underwritten by Santam) - Fastest solution. Stand alone bicycle insurance, covers all the additional items where home and contents falls short. One prime example, theft away from home. Home and contents won't cover that. ChrisF Posted March 15, 2021 Share Anybody with experience to share on Naked Insurance? Seems to good to be true... Division of Hollard, their "no broker, call centre only" unit .... All the big companies have their versions of this .... I prefer to work via a broker ... to put it mildly.
Dappere Posted March 15, 2021 Share Home and contents will cover everything if it’s specified and comprehensive cover is selected.Might be good to check your policy wording. https://www.bikeradar.com/advice/buyers-guides/bicycle-insurance-guide/ https://insurance-uk.chainreactioncycles.com/compare/ Not RSA companies, but when it comes to insurance there is generally a lot of overlap
Trance Dance Posted March 15, 2021 Share Why not share it here for everyone to benefit from?Sure. I deal with bikesure, they specialise in motorcycles and bicycles. They've placed me with cyclesure as a stand alone policy, as well as with discovery as part of a household policy. Always happy to shop around for the best price. I've had a couple of mtb claims all dealt with quickly and professionally. Try Stuart on 0834616856 or Bevan on 0834614200. WR 1.0
