Mintman Posted April 26, 2021 Share Hi guys, I have a friend who bought a second-hand mountain bike for around R2000, which came fitted with 700 x 40C road tyres. One of her tyres needs to be replaced and she was quoted around R950. She uses it very casually on the road and never on the mountain. Are there any other options she should look at before spending all that money on a tyre for an old bike? I spend that much on my MTB tyres, so I know it's not a crazy amount. It's just a bit unreasonable given the bike and its use. I'd really appreciate any help.

No Hare Posted April 26, 2021 Share Have these on my commuter. 2km gravel and 8km tar road per day for the past year. On a normal day I carry about 10kg of stuff with me, add to that my rather portly figure and I cannot fault these tyres. Paid R600 for 2 a year ago.
