AFAIK you can also connect up a separate heart rate monitor and cadence/speed sensors Aww sweet Thank you

Riaan H Posted August 9, 2021 Share I have really liked the 3 Garmin FR35's we have had, but unfortunately none of them lasted much more than a year and a half or so before the processors just quit and they couldn't be repaired. I would suggest going for one of the newer versions as some suggested.

Mars1967 Posted August 10, 2021 Share Also look at the Huawei watches such as the Watch GT and the Watch Fit. I have the GT and am very impressed with the features. The battery also lasts very long. I found the GPS tracking to be more accurate than my iPhone. They constantly have special offers going. https://consumer.huawei.com/za/wearables/watch-fit/buy/ https://consumer.huawei.com/za/wearables/watch-gt/ Edited August 10, 2021 by Mars1967

Spafsack Posted August 10, 2021 Share I had a few forerunners in my day, did not like the dull screen, incorrect heart rate, switched to hauwei gt, me and mommy, never looked back, LOVE THEM, 2 weeks battery life, works everytime, just my 5 cents. Matu Posted August 10, 2021 Share Just a few questions that might help your choice: do you want a smart watch with fitness tracking capabilities or a fitness tracker with smart watch capabilities? What other sports do you do (run and cycle)? What's your budget? What info do you want to know (just speed and distance)? Want to be able to view the info during the activity or only review the info after the activity? Road or MTB? Without knowing all the info, find a Garmin 45/235/VA3 (new or used), a chest HRM, bike handlebar mount and you'll be sorted. ChrisF

That's a deal breaker for me. Dexter-morgan

In the activity I just want to see how far I have Ridden and in what time. I have a mountain bike, riding on the road and trails Regards

You can get a Suunto 5 for under 4k on takealot. Her one has the whole "body battery" thing and fitness age and a bunch of other stuff. The nice thing about them is you can set up a custom workout. for example my custom run workout I display distance, HR, Time, average pace. I have an on bike gps that I use whilst on the bike so I have something to look at but my watch is the device used to record and upload all activities. Personally I'd wouldn't buy a 2nd hand smart watch unless it was a mate. And even then.
