Did you really only think crime happened in South Africa?

Saw this incident on BBC TV NEWS headlines this morning, that’s the difference.

It still makes headline news

And it will actively be investigated, not file 13.

Motrobikes and machetes and then able to offload a R10k team bike ( I presume ) so well organised .

Crime happens in all countries - it's just the severity and amount that changes. A lot in some places.

Easy for me to say - I officially live in the safest city in the world ????

There have been 5 now, similar MO. Machete and then bike stolen on motorbike.

Who would have thought there would be more violent crime towards cyclists in London Vs Cape Town this past week?

Didn't the police start ramming the moped cellphone thieves. Why not do the same to this scum.... obviously the bike might be a casualty but insurance and atleast the police can nab the waste of oxygen

Crime is everywhere. SAcdoes not have a copyright on crime. This spate of bike jacking in Richmond Park has made news more because of the use of a machete than the bike jackings which have been on the rise since demand for bicycles increased due to lockdowns

a few norwegians woke up to some tough news today, nowhere is 100% safe

It's all a numbers game, live in a place where you're happy with the numbers, if you can.

manage the risks that are in your control, if you can.

Putting Norway and SA in the same sentence when talking crime is laughable. More people are murdered in SA every 2 hours than died in the Norway attack.

In SA crime didn't bother me too much but daaaaamn once you live in a place with (almost) no crime you realise exactly how hardened you had become to it and how much better life can be without it.

Turns out the guy responsible for the attack in Norway is Danish! Rather ironic given that Copenhagen just won safest city in the world. Apparently we export our crime!
