My fastest CTCT by far was the one where I did about 500km or racing at the Tour of Good Hope the week leading up to raceday - since then I don't believe in that tapering crap anymore 🤪

You mos tapered for the Tour of Good Hope didn't you, Oom? 😶

R 680 under international entries, as paid on Saturday.  (certainly not sure if this is higher than the normal price)

Nooit, I haven't been able to ride a bike for nearly 4 weeks cos of after effects of the 'vid. Got a "sort of" all clear from the doc on Friday that I can start training slowly again, but take it easy.

Me: Vo2Max and Threshold all day, every day till I depart for CPT 😜 😆 j/k

There were more that that out on the route yesterday.

True hey, I was heading north to meet up with a club ride but then saw wave after wave of large groups and turned when I met up with two youngsters I mentor and coach. Small group are the new normal for me. I’m glad some folks are getting the crashing out of the way early

Depends quite a bit on your average everywhere else :)
But, if you can average a smidge over 20km/h on these two late in the race,
you can probably average a high enough speed for the rest to make (or just not) a sub-3.
