louiso Posted October 31, 2006 Share I recently saw some interesting discussions about frames and wheels on the Hub. Which is the better groupset to consider taking price, maintenance and availability into consideration.

TitusTi Posted October 31, 2006 Share I must say that at the moment the best price to weight to performance ratio seems to be coming from the SRAM Rival groupset, slightly cheaper than Ultegra but 300 grams lighter. In fact if you use a lighter cassette the gruppo is almost the same weight as DuraAce! All of this at a reasonable price!

MintSauce Posted October 31, 2006 Share Here's my take....NOBODY does cool like the Italians. Is there anything else worth taking into consideration? I saw a Maserati Quattroporte the other day. Italian 4.2 V8 fourseater, same pricerange as the top-of-the-line S-class Mercs and 7-series BMWs. It's slightly slower, the semi-auto gearbox is described by overseas magazines as a turd, it chows clutches that are scary expensive to replace, at an alarming rate, the germans come with full service plans whereas the Maser costs a fortune to service and it's also not as reliable in the longterm and finally, when it's time to sell it has lower resale value. BUT it is THE COOLEST, SEXIEST FOORDOOR CAR ON THE PLANET. The first time you see one in the flesh, you'll understand!
