Carbon MTB handlebars

Whats everyone's experience with these? Seems the world is a little divided. I'm currently running the Bergtec alloy enduro bars, and they're incredibly stiff. Feel like I'm going to lose my teeth sometimes from all the chatter. Are they worth the spend? Have got some Bartender grips, which help, but have a few options for bars I'm looking at.

Raceface, ethirteen, Roval sl35, and Oneups (but they only have 20mm rise, so not my first choice)  is anyone using any of these currently?

Went from Nukeproof 31.8mm to OneUp 35mm. Same 20mm rise but up from 760mm to 800mm

The OneUp is noticeably stiffer and it took a while to get used to them. Actually ended up tweaking my compression damper on the fork a tiny bit to help. Mayne I had my fork set wrong to begin with but from research all 35mm carbon bars are stiff. The OneUp just the least

I’m super happy now. Excellent feeling bars with the perfect up and back sweep.

Worldwide Cyclery has a nice video on youtube where they do back to back tests on a bunch of Carbon bars, maybe give that a watch?

Yes i've seen it, thank you. Just like to get opinions from people who aren't sponsored, or given the products to test. Seems the OneUps were quite a good option.

how compliant is the Roval?

I'm not sure. There's virtually nothing on the web about these bars, but they do look quite generic, and are the most expensive of the lot.

Why did you switch from the Nukeproof bars if you dont mind me asking? I just put Nukeprook Horizon 31.8 carbon bars on both my bikes, CRC has them selling at crazy low prices so I just went for it, 38mm rise on the Enduro sled and 25mm rise on the Trail bike

760mm was fine on the old bike. Great bars from Nukeproof as well. Warhead bar paired with a 50mm warhead stem.

When I built the new bike I wanted to murder out all the components. Black on black for everything and the OneUp has no branding while the Nukeproof was quite flashy.

I also loved 800mm bars the second i put my hands on them.

Cool, thanks. Luckily these dont really have any branding, nice clean looking bars, and are 800mm wide, I would like to get the matching Horizon stem though, that would just make it look so good 👌

Anyway, thread hijack over...

😪 nothing wrong with chinese carbon.

You would be surprised how many track cyclists run chinese carbon bars on their bikes.

I have Bontrager 35mm carbon bar on my Trek and a Renthal 35mm alloy bar on my Pyga. Honestly, I cannot tell the difference between the two. If I was you I'd look at tweaking my tyre pressures and look at my fork (settings, service and making sure bushings are properly sized) before splashing out for a new set of bars.

35mm bars are one of the great wins of the marketing departments. Zero benefit except creating a new standard.

Stick to 31.8mm, they are much more comfortable. In carbon or alloy. I really enjoy my Spank Vibrocore bars.

I had a Lyne Amp carbon bar (780, 35, 15mm rise) on my previous Stumpy, which I loved. Got a stock 35mm alloy bar (800, 35, 30mm rise) on my new Stumpy and it felt quite harsh, so replaced it with a OneUp carbon (800, 35, 20mm rise).

Does the OneUp mute chatter in comparison? Most definitely.

Did the Lyne mute chatter? Comparing it to the alloy bar, yes. Not as much as the OneUp, but still very subtly noticeable.
