CatzSpace "frail" Posted May 17, 2022 Share Whilst I was out Cycling last week, I bust my SHIMANO Crank. How does one Brake a CRANK? Can I claim for a Warranty, it' been Barely Used. Please give me your thoughts, Thanks. David Edited May 17, 2022 by FRAIL K MTBRIDER1234, TheoG, peetwindhoek and 1 other 3

Who is the manufacturer and what does their website state is the warranty? It doesn't matter if you used it once inside of the warranty period. It is based on time and not number of uses. I would imagine titanium parts to have at least a 5 year warranty. Speak to the shop you bought it from. And wash your bike BrentCGP, MTBRIDER1234 and CatzSpace "frail" 1

BuffsVintageBikes Posted May 17, 2022 Share Looks like you broke the crank axle, not the BB. The BB is the part that's in the frame. Are your BB bearings still spinning smoothly? Could you send a photo of the other side of the crank, I'd like to see what make/type it is? 117 Posted May 17, 2022 Share Um, I aint no metallugy person, but judging by the dirt on the crank I'd hazard a guess that the bearing itself ceased up, and with the rotation forces on the crank arm/spindle at a most inoppurtune moment... it simply snapped. Heck, not even tallboy 3's are made from this stuff so failures can and do happen Edited May 17, 2022 by 117 speeeling MTBRIDER1234
Jakkals. Posted May 17, 2022 Share this is not a tdv6 disco 3/4 problem. I doubt a crank will just snap from a bearing that ran hot. MTBRIDER1234, justinafrika, 117 and 2 others 2
