Tokai MTB Trails Closed untill further Notice

Tokai trails remain closed after the devastating fires over the Long weekend. 

After inspection by the Tokai MTB team there are a number of trails completely damaged some partly damaged and some undamaged. 

The Tokai trails are located in the Tokai Reserve and subject to SANPARK rulings.The Tokai and Silvermine parks were closed by SANPARKS to the public during and after the fire.

The TokaiMTB Trail team will be meeting with SANPARK authorities to Clarify when and to what  extent entry to hikers bikers and horse riders will be allowed. 

It's the TokaiMTB priority to get MTBIKErs back onto the trails as soon as possible.

Our trail team has noted that people are still riding Tokai despite the widely publicized temporary closure. The closure is to afford our team the opportunity to attend to the repair of fire damaged trails.  

Trails that have just been attended to are being ridden and damaged again leading to additional repairs being required, adding to the costs incurred by TokaiMTB.

 

Please don't ride the trails until they are officially reopened in a few weeks time.
