11-21

11-23

12-21

12-23

12-25

12-27

Dont know if this is what you want. The most popular combination is the 11-23 or 12-23.

yeah, they do, 11/23, or 12/25 (and various others). Look for a marking on the smallest cog in the cluster, and then the largest. If you can't see a marking, count the number of teeth.

Gasant were you riding down Suikerbossie towards Sea Point on Sunday morning at about 8am ?

Thought I saw you as we passed going the other direction.

Gasant -  if u have something like a 21 as your big ring at the back then you'll struggleDead on the steep sections.  for me a 12-25 is perfect for the routes/races in and around the peninsula (chappies, uo kaapse, rdhill, etc.)

Gasant the pace was pretty quick up Suikerbossie ..... but faster up Chappies !

I guess that most guys are pretty fit by now ... plus you get the ego factor.

Generally the rides are very sedate on the flats but once it turns upwards the ego's kick in and it suddenly becomes a frenzy.

Why don't you come and ride from Constantia this Sunday ?

I spoke to Jonathan Kinnear on Sunday - he won the junior SA champs this year. He says that on average he does 500km a week.

There are also top vets guys doing a max of 400km a week.

So I think your mileage is way too high. You also seem to be tiring yourself out by riding too regularly.

10-12 hours between rides is not enough recovery time.

Try to ride less (maybe discard the evening rides) and add intensity instead.

Quality over quantity.

Now that I know what you look like you will have to work out which one is me on Sunday.

You'll just have to ask each guy until you find me .... like finding the fugitive.

Clue: I'll be in orange and black kit !
