fandacious Posted November 22, 2008 Share i *heard* the winning time was 2mins slower than last year. 5h25mins. wind was *** and course was 5km longer than last year, so avg speed was higher
snah2 Posted November 22, 2008 Share So Daiken turned the tables on Andersons after losing out by 25 odd seconds last year?!
Old Dog Posted November 23, 2008 Share Surely some news by now?Daiken won with Andersons second.Time' date='where was Neotel etc etc??Weather?? [/quote'] Neotel was 3rd - and they were lucky to get that as they dropped their "development" guys after 50k and the 2 of the 7 remaining were battling - saw Perry giving a helping push on the last few hills!Rather poor show that only 2 of the team (Maartens, Perry) made it to the podium for prizegiving!I was mightily impressed by the Daiken Gu "old timers" who looked good for the whole trip. Neotel had 7 good riders in their team.....so the pressure was on them to win it. Most people underestimate this race how hard it is and even more people forget that it is a TEAM event. If you panic you pay the price later! Before the event it looked like we all were racing for 2nd place.....just shows you that Cape Town cycling is not completely in the dark!! splat Posted November 23, 2008 Share Weather was Ok, except for the wind along the Bonnievale detour. That section sucked. The last few km seemed never ending especially the labyrnith to the finish line.We got 6:30 in the end, so pretty chuffed.
