Anyone know where I can get Slime tubes?

Hi all,

I've now got the narrow valve tubes on my MTB (Schraeder?) and I need to find tubes that have slime in them already. I believe Specialized makes these, but they are harder to find than a clean Pro rider ;-)

Anyone know where I can find in Jhb, or how to install Slime in a normal tube with the narrow valve?

Any good bike shop should have stock of the specialized tubes....in a perfect world. If you find one that does.... buy all their stock and pm me!

Otherwise use the sludge presta slime. It works...sometimes....if your lucky.

MichH, I got my Dr Sludge presta tubes from Sportsmans warehouse. I can't tell if they are working or not because I can not tell you if I've ahd a puncture or not.

I carry Sludge Presta tubes as back up spares in case my UST develops a problem.

I would recommend changing to schrauder though

I know Ruaan at Fritz Pienaar carries a lot of Specialized accessories.

Try him on 011 2340962.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll phone around and see what I can turn up, but a Stan's conversion sounds in order!

That's the way to go, no more messing around with tubes, tyre liners & slime !!

Schalbe and some Continental tubes have a removable core. Bought some Contis from Fritz 2 weeks ago - R30/tube.

MichH - you could always pop out to Summit cycles (Value Faire centre Midrand) at lunch time, it's not far from you and get some from Anton!
