Morning everyone. Looks like I'll be in Gauteng end March for a few days (job interviews), so might as well try get some racing in.

Does anyone have details (Polar profiles etc) on the Vasbyt Challenge (31 March) and the IFM / Pondo Shades Challenge (1st April)?

Any other events I should look at?

Fatty - can't help you with a polar profile for the Vasbyt Challenge (have the Polar but it has issues with the altitude thingy - long story so I'll get back to topic)

As far as I know the Vasbyt is rolling hills - I've never done the race before but I often cycle out in that area with the club.

Michelle: sounds like a worthy challenge...please ask him to send it. No, I won't ride the 160 in my skinsuit don't worry!

1000m ascent for the 160km's so it's pretty flat...

Jason averaged 38km/h

Here's the profile ->

Yeah that vasbyt challenge looks anything but flat

I think the only thing flat in that race will be me on by back after i finish

Not quite the flat route it's been made out to be, but looks like a decent enough way to spend half a day.

Thanks for the profile

I only did the 60km on that day (from lap marker 1)... Embarrassed I crashed twice (once into a bike, and then into a car) & still managed to average 35km/h LOL

Hey Fatty, Vasbyt is a great race. It is rolling hills but really pretty much flat. Definitely worth doing but you have to do the 160km.
