My vraag is of dit regtig so verskil vir 'n funrider soos ek sal maak as ek met continentals ultrasports of my denonators raan 'race'.

_Daemon_ Posted April 23, 2007 Share Look at vredenstain fortezza tricomp, I use it for training and racing, wear is excellent and it's a nice fast tyre.
FanieFiets Posted April 23, 2007 Share Is dit foldables?
Peter VW Posted April 23, 2007 Share Ditto on Vredenstein. Nice soft ride too. Use Specialized tube with puncture lube in. Bit expensive at R60.00 but worth it.
E1A104 Posted April 23, 2007 Share Here is another way of looking at it - You use "race" tyres cause they are faster, lighter etc. etc. Should you puncture because your race tyres are not as puncture resistant how long will it take you to change the tube and get going again (5 - 10 minutes perhaps) compared to the minisucule amount of time you might have lost using Gatorskins that are a bit more durable but slighly heavier??? Marius Posted April 23, 2007 Share I've come to the following realization over the last month. Got 4flats, in 4races over 4weeks. It's not about the tyres and all about luck or rather the lack of it. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> You can use you Best tyres or you can use your k@kkest tyres and get flats, you can use your Mtb tyres on the road and get flats, it makes no diffs, trust me, it's all luck at the end of the day. ORCA Posted April 23, 2007 Share Ditto Marius, I?ve race and train for the last two years not one single flat at +/- 12000km?s / year.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The week before the ACT I?ve got 7 flats in 5 days ORCA2007-04-23 07:47:
Buff Posted April 23, 2007 Share I feel your pain Marius, I went through a stint like that last season where I got a puncture every time I took my bloody bike out the front door. It's super frustrating. Buff's tip of the day - check your rim tape. Sometimes it slides on the rim and it cuts the tube from the inside, especially when you pump your tires above 8bar (it's common problem but the last thing you normally check).
