Touring trailer???

Im planning to do some touring this holiday, and I want to build myself a trailer for the trip! But I can't seem to find a nice design on the web! Any idea's?

I'm sure you've taken a look at Burley's offering? I bought their flatbed trailer which worked an absolute charm. It is a relatively simple design if you're the DIY kind of guy.

IMO it works better than carriers panniers from a load distribution p.o.v: I did a trip from Prince Albert over Swartberg pass into Gamkaskloof: about 80% rought gravel roads. I think the max speed I clocked down SBP was something like 60km/h and I had no trouble at all shaving the speed off for corners (something I battled with when carrying the load on the bike itself).

 

Two known disadvantages: 1) The trailer is quite wide, making it cumbersome to use on busy roads without a yellow (urban roads will be a nightmare). If you go for a single wheel design, this will be no problem at all

2) In crowds, the luggage is removed far from your direct control, making it easier for thieves to help themselves. Unless it is strapped down with security mesh.
