CaptainDura Posted June 11, 2007 Share I asked the question "What is the best XC UST tire" in the tech-shack in this post https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=13628 The actual question should rather have been: "What is the most preferred UST XC tire used in and around Cape-Town"? Desertbob Posted June 11, 2007 Share I use these:Vredestein Killer Bees. So far pretty impressed. Not much good in the mud though!
Marius Posted June 11, 2007 Share DesertBob, I also hear the Killer Bees are the Bee's Wax...BUT you need beter than avarage handeling skills if you gonna race with them.

Desertbob Posted June 11, 2007 Share DesertBob' date=' I also hear the Killer Bees are the Bee's Wax...BUT you need beter than avarage handeling skills if you gonna race with them.[/quote'] Well maybe I'm just too slow to have trouble with handling!Had Hutch Python Lites before and I reckon the Killer bees corner better in the loose stuff. Velouria Posted June 11, 2007 Share I found a new tyre. Geax Sagauro. Its a awesome xc tyre. My LBS has a couple in stock, and they look quite nice. But my CrossMarks are still quite new, so it is going to be a while before I get to try somethign else.
AndreZA Posted June 11, 2007 Share Did you guys see the new Slime tyres? It's a UST tyre with Slime sandwiched in the casing so there is nothing that comes out if you remove the tyre. http://slime.com/product.php?product=SRTMampara2007-06-11 08:41:
Velouria Posted June 11, 2007 Share So it is more like a tube and tyre mixed into one. Almost like a tubby, but still with a mount for clinchers. Quite a cool idea
Joss Posted June 11, 2007 Share Killer Bees are great with good tracktion and very low rolling resistance. Morne Bester did the whole Epic on one pair with no punctures.
_Daemon_ Posted June 12, 2007 Share Maxxis Larsen TT's or Mimo's, just stay away from mud!
