narra Posted June 21, 2007 Share Howdy Hubbers ?I once dreamedof a place where I can speak freely about cycling/training. A placewhere there was no discrimination. Not the bike you ride or the clubyou belong to or even the car you drive. A place where cyclist cantalk about cycling and do not get personal. A place where we areadults and no acting like school children. Where theadmin/modorator's does not have to police the forum users or deletethe thread's because of bad behaviour. A place where everybody hadthere feet firmly on the ground. There were once a place like that, but now it is gone. The sparkle is not there any more. Is it time fora new beginning ? narra narra2007-06-21 05:22:

ewep Posted June 21, 2007 Share narra, I agree. If I could I would start it all anew! Some good friends have left and others (with VERY valid points and ideas and view) are not posting/in a private club house which only the club members can access (sorry Crux, some of us really enjoyed your pics and chirps which we can't see anymore!) As for the hub, it's turned into the old SAW Basics. You better think 3 times before saying something. And "jou maatjies nail jou, so nou word almal genail"!! 2 X 2 Posted June 21, 2007 Share Narra, ek stem saam met jou.
pastapouch Posted June 21, 2007 Share You mean you want a strict cycling board? I've also felt like that - but then its the same as when you go out with cyclists... cycling talk rarely lasts, because every subject will have its sub conversations and later your talking weather and what times you prefer to sleep to on sunday and stuff like that. An online forumn is just a conversation in another format - so you'll always gonna go off the main topic.
ewep Posted June 21, 2007 Share I wouldn't say strictly cycling. But at the moment the talk is 75% non cycling, 15% flaming and 10% cycling related! This sucks as the hub has always been mostly cycling related, with a bit of whatever in between.
Wonder Woman Posted June 21, 2007 Share Totally off the topic but Backlash you obviously enjoyed "Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy" Good taste in books

ewep Posted June 21, 2007 Share I would add one more, repetitive posts done in different threads on the same topic.
AuctionLamb Posted June 21, 2007 Share My opinion about why this forum has gone a bit pear-shaped is that there was always a bit of "mocking" going around and we all laugh about it and carry on...that made the hub fun....till some people took it too serious or went overboard. With all the new rules etc. people are too "afraid" to make a sarcastic remark or joke around because he might be banned from the hub. Look at popeye for example......most of his remarks he jokes around and "mocking" people and it was funny.....he also had good posts because he is a good cyclist. That was the fun.....teazing and there was lot's of humour in it.....now it is a very "serious" hub.
widget Posted June 21, 2007 Share A strictly cycling board like this has been has a limited lifespan. Theres only so much information, before it becomes a repeat. One of the reasons I asked if perhaps it may be interesting to some to have selected alternative SPORT forums within the HUB framework. Otherwise, a lot of folk will just drift off to other sites which interest them - I would suggest, lets try and keep them here and increase the members who dont cycle with a small selection of other sport forums. Sorry Mud Dee - the "Slackers" arnt part of it.
ewep Posted June 21, 2007 Share AL, yes, all in jest. BUT, if you start nailing people because of petty jealousy (yes, I do mean TCS!), then the "fun" on the Hub is not fun anymore!

scotty Posted June 21, 2007 Share Can the current set up of Chit Chat be not be used for non cycling threads. The only thing i really read there is the Friday Funnies, while i look to the other for cycling issues.
