Sram 1.1 actuation

Please would someone explain to this non technical dope what they mean when saying that the sram derailler has a 1.1 actuation.

 

Your explanation would be greately appreciated.Confused

It means that for every mm of cable the levers pull, the derailleurs will move 1mm. Shimano is for every 2mm cable the levers pull, the derailleurs move 1mm.

Depends on opinion, the Sram gives a more mechanical "clunky" feel, where the Shimano has a more subtle "smooth" feel, some say the Sram is better in mud but having run Shimano for the last 15 years of my riding I have never had a problem in mud... techguy2010-02-17 03:49:35
