me rida Posted March 3, 2010 Share I'm a relatively young (age wise and cycling wise!) woman. I stay in the Northern suburbs of CT and am considering joining a local club.Even though I ride for fun, I would like to improve as much as possible. At the moment I mostly train with an older, male partner or sometimes with (much) stronger guys, neither of which is ideal. Training solo is not great either as riding alone at 5am can be pretty scary, not to mention dangerous. Any suggestions on which club to join? joevan Posted March 3, 2010 Share Where in the Northern Suburbs? I recommend City Cycling Club, who ride from Edgemead, great bunch and cater for the beginner. Website: http://www.citycyclingclub.org/joevan2010-03-03 12:54:
PeterM Posted March 3, 2010 Share City Cycling is very good; also try The Outriders (www.theoutriders.co.za) I joined them two years ago when i started cycling. Am glad i joined them. They cater for beginners all the way to pro riders. Come to Saturday's 7h00 morning ride and see for yourself (3 rides = Sweet 'n Easy 32km; Leg Loosner 45km; Leg Breaker 55km). And have some coffee afterwards!
