Contaminated Haggis Posted March 13, 2010 Share Will Sram components (shifters and front and rear dr's) run on a Campy freebody, chain and cassette (10 speed)?Anyone tried this?
javadude Posted March 13, 2010 Share No, but you can run campy ten speed shifters on sram drivetrain, apparently. Have a look here: http://velonews.competitor.com/2008/03/bikes-tech/can-you-run-campy-shifters-with-a-sram-drivetrain-sure-why-not_73404
Contaminated Haggis Posted March 14, 2010 Share Ok, after much ado, I decided to try it out. I stripped down my bike, removing the Campag 10 speed Record group and put on the new SRAM Red (shifters, crank and BB, front and rear dr's). All that remained of my old Campy groupset was the cassette and chain (semi new). After a few tweaks and test runs in the driveway, my shifting ran perfectly, no issues whatsoever. My bike looks great with the Red, although I do miss the trim on the front dr to be honest. Will test properly in the week in a group ride.
