El Saltemontes Posted March 14, 2010 Share Help neededI am building my 1st hardtail after many years of riding full susser's, my question is; can I take my spair set of DT Swiss rims fitted for disc brakes, remove the rotors and expect them to be ok with "v brakes". Mudsimus Posted March 14, 2010 Share Only if they have v brake rims. If they dont have the machined area they wont work very effectively and you would only damage them. Why not get a cheap set of disc brakes? You should get something under a R1000
El Saltemontes Posted March 14, 2010 Share Thanks for that Mud Dee, are we talking Avid Juicy 3 or something even cheeper? do you see these 2nd hand on this site?
Mudsimus Posted March 14, 2010 Share If you want to buy new Id go for the Shimano entry level ones or Tektro auriga pro's. They should retail for +- R1500. But I've seen some juicy's for round about R1000 second hand on this site.
