RST fork with Giant 29er

Will a RST M29 fork work with a Giant XTC 29er frame? the reason i ask is because the Giant frame has a tapered steerer tube and the fork is not tapered. I have the correct headset for the frame but do i need the special fork or an additional piece that will make the RST fork work. If so where do I get that 'special piece'

thanks

depends if the headset you have is a proper 1 1/8" at the top and 1.5" at the bottom, you can run a conventional 1 1/8" fork provided you have the right headset that 'steps down' then 1.5" bottom end to 1 1/8"......

Chat to the guys at Cycles Africa -- they have some Cane Creek Reducers. I was in the same boat .... but managed to get a Taper Fork ( Don't ask )which solved my problem. As far as I know the Giant frame can take the reducer kit. If not, your options are Fox ( special order ) or Reba ( also special order ).
