Edge_Design Posted April 12, 2010 Share I recently acquired a 2 year old SID world cup... I am wary of posting this as I don't like being told I'm stupid, but I really am stumped... The expander plug in it seems to fasten up to a point and then suddenly releases if I keep on tightening it (it doesn't get tight enough at any point in this so I'm not overtightening it). It has a carbon steerer so I'm wary of messing around too much... Is there a special technique with the expander plugs in carbon MTB forks? Do I need to somehow tighten it without using a top cap? I have searched internet for more info, but to no avail... Unfortunately due to work commitments I won't get to a shop for at least 2 weeks and really would like to be able to ride this weekend.
