Bike build - Part priorities

Ok so after many weeks of pondering and pondering I  have decided to build up a Zula.

I have never done a custom build before, always got "of-the-shelf" bikes.

How should I prioritise my parts spec? So if I ordered my parts as in quality and price should it look something like this:

Frame

Groupset

Forks

Wheels

Bars, Stem

Seat, seat post

With my budget was thinking about going Zula frame, xx groupset but am lost as to what to use for the rest. Was thinking to spend the most on Fram, Group set and wheels, then get standardish other stuff and upgrade it later as needed.

Am I on the right path here?

My priorities are different.

1,2,3 = Seat

4 = fork

5 = frame

6 = tyres

7 = rest

Your budget/wallet may end up making some decisions for you...

It's no use having XX and then fitting average wheels and anchor bar/stem/seatpost/saddle etc, so you wanna balance it out.

I've alos never built up a bike myself before but would love to do it when the $$s are available. Her would be my order of priority:

1. Frame

2. Fork

3. Wheelset

4. Gruppo (incl. Brakes)

5. All the other bits...

Am I right if I say that when you run the XXgroup your only option for a rear derailr is the > R2300 XX rear derailr?

Dude, Don't skimp on the headset either.  I recommend Hope or Chris King.  Otherwise, I'm with Tarmac and Bos

You only looking after your ass? Smile

I recon if you are willing to spend that amount of cash on a frame, you are aware of the importance of a good seat.

For me fork is pretty important...

Some one said something true about putting XX on then its not worth skipping on the rest. I Agree.

Whats the use paying for something so light, an then putting on a heavy wheelset and fork.
