Johan Bornman Posted June 3, 2010 Share should last the same...it's the rollers that wear...not the links.I have 2 x 9 and it's perfectly fine. The 2 x 10 use the same chains as road groupsets. Tarmac, you've been here a long, long time and should know better by now. The links and pins experience the major wear and the little wear on the rollers is neither here nor there. Therefore, if the sideplates are thinner on one chain than on another, it will wear more. How much more? By whatever ratio they are thinner. A 1mm sideplate will last twice as long as a 0.5mm sideplate etc etc. I may as well use this opportunity to remind Dangle that chains don't stretch.
