Singletrack Cyc Posted June 10, 2010 Share I'm actually a roadie but ordered a mtb - should be here any day now. It comes out with SRAM XO triggers - I was wondering if I should swop it with Gripshift as I had it on a previous mtb without any hassles. I also often get customers bikes with sticky trigger shifters which makes me wonder what to do. The triggers cost almost 3 times more which makes me wonder again... What are the hardcore mtb'ers pro's and con's regarding this?

Bike Mob Posted June 10, 2010 Share Don't wander too much... you'll get lost. Get Gripshifts
Mackie Posted June 10, 2010 Share I have used both, but prefer triggers. It's a personel choice, one is not better than the other, performance, weight wise. Test both and decide for yourself. The important choice has been made; You chose SRAM.
Elvis Posted June 10, 2010 Share If it gets wet the gripshifts are difficult to turn.
Spinnekop Posted June 10, 2010 Share Had both. Gripshifts lasted 2 days in the wet. Triggers still going after 3 years!
brussel Posted June 10, 2010 Share grip shifts are the shiz...I think I still prefer paddle for the front because there are only three positions, gripshift has more because it allows you to trim. but for the rear, nothing better.
SteveS Posted June 10, 2010 Share I Love my grip shifts. The only problem is it looks like Sram are phasing them out. There will be no gripshifts for the 2 x 10 range (XX or any of the others)
