Wheelsuck Posted July 1, 2010 Share At my last race I put my glasses in my back pocket. The bad luck was that it was placed next to my mini-pump. So it started rubbing on the lens leaving a friction/rub mark. It is not that deep on the lens. Do u think there is a way to get it off? Any advice anyone? Taps Posted July 1, 2010 Share Your lenses are stuffed. Unfortunately scratches cannot be removed from lenses, and that's a fact.
Mackie Posted July 1, 2010 Share I have managed to remove some minor scratches from my lenses with brasso, albeit not the RP lenses, call the agents and ask. Taps Posted July 1, 2010 Share Brasso will NOT remove scratches, only scratch them more (I'm in the trade, I know!). But please, try Brasso and find out
Danger Dassie Posted July 1, 2010 Share Normally abrasive scratches can often be polished out, but not if it's a coated lense or the scratches are deep. Most likely cheaper to replace the lenses or lens. I really wouldn't reccomend trying to polish scratches out yourself, especially if it's a prescription.
Wheelsuck Posted July 1, 2010 Share Contacted the importers and the verdict is that the Photochromatic lenses cannot be fixed, buffed, or brasso'ed. Damn!

BlueMax Posted July 3, 2010 Share Contacted the importers and the verdict is that the Photochromatic lenses cannot be fixed, buffed, or brasso'ed. Damn! Send a mail to Heinrich@asgworld.co.za - this guy helped me under their "lens replacement guarantee" to replace my photchromic lenses at 60% off RRP (40%)...same as the helmet replacement guarantee Rudy Project offers (65% off RRP)...a lady from ASG (think it was Lizle) called me and it was sorted very quickly.
