Anybody using them? or something similar. Even though its about R650 landed, it seems worth it for commuters (like me).

OK i WENT ONTO THE LINK IT KIND OF EXPLAINS IT.. NEAT.. i REMEMBER HOW WE "BORROWED" EACH OTHERS STUFF AT STELLIES SOMEDAYS. iDKNOW WHO'S BIKE WAS WHO'S SO i WOULD BORROW A WHEEL IF i HAD A FLAT OR A SEAT iF ONE GOT STOLLEN, HAHA, ALWAYS DID PUT IT BACK THOUGH. Our proudly South African thieves are not so subtle. Protecting your house with a 6-lever lock instead of a cheap 2-lever one is futile. They use a battering ram to get in and certainly don't try and pick locks.

 

Protecting your bicycle wheels with a neat little special-key quick release is equally futile. If you park your bike out of sight, they'll steal the bike, lamp pole and lock. All you'll be left with is the fancy R600 key.

 

I once bought some anti-theft quick releases (they worked with an allen key) for my wheels but I never fitted them. This after seeing how bikes at London train stations have to be locked to protect them. These guys take the wheels off and stack them next to the frame and put a tugboat chain through the entire lot - helmet and shoes included.
