spidy the idea is to use a LED downlight which burns at 1W instead of the halogen 20W, which then gives 10 hours of daylight on a 12V battery. Night no more

I bought some just the other day at Eagle, M5 business park. They are R89 each, consume about 1,5W. There are 20 leds in them. I also bought some at Zebbies in Durban for R79 (Lohuis) but they are not as bright. I am running them off of 12Vdc not sure if that's why they are not so bright, but they are great for night lights.

There is an ad for LED downlights in the most recent edition of home magazine.

220 LED downlight 3,3W lasts 5 years

12V downlight MR 16 4W Lasts 5 years

Doesn't give prices.

10 LED lights will use 0,03 units of electricity per hour. 10 Halogen lights will use 1 unit per hour - 33X more than LED. Fits into existing fittings; can be dimmed.

That is great! I wonder if all these lamps are made in China? If they are made in China, I think you can buy it from china factory directly.

If you need, send e-mail to me: brightlighting@139.com
