Zula 4" rear travel - XC/Marathon bike - light as possible

Shova 5" raer travel - Freeride Bike - weight was not the main concern

Its a much nicer looking bike, type of frame that screams PORNSTAR in da house.

Shova looks like ex-military hardware. No pornstar prizes but I'm sure it could survive a couple of nuclear explosions.

Personaly for me I would love to get the Zula as I don't downhill, but if I did, I would rather go Shova. But then again this is all wishfull thinking to actually owning a Morewood for me in the near future.

Shova is heavy and was intended for trail riding. They did make XC version but it was still heavy. The Zula is the new kid on the block soley intended for XC racing.

Zula vs Shova

See attached for basic info from the MOREWOOD SITE LINK

The obvious difference is the travel to be found on the bikes with the Zula being XC/Marathon orientated and the Shova more a light to intermediate type trail bike that can do a couple of marathon ride (At least I think it ok for someone not wanting to win the damned race).

Get to ride both if you can and also be honest with yourself RE your style of riding.

The Mbuzi is another animal. What a great ride, but definately lends itself to being a intermediate to heavy use trail bike ... don't get me wrong, she can pedal up a hill just fine, but not as quickly as the Zula. Take this bike onto some tight/twisty/steep ST and she comes alive. One of the most enjoyable experiences I have EVER had riding a bike. It is just too much bike for me though.

My next bike would be the Shova with a lightish/XC/Marathon type build.

Hagar, in case you return...if you are in Dbn head to Power Cycles( old Shauns Power Cycles) in Umgeni Road and chat to the guys there. They are stocking Morewood frames with the intention of selling you a frame and the components you want. They have stock on the ground and seem to be getting great assistance from Morewood.
