Geax UST tires

How good is the Geax range of UST tires?

Which would you fit front and rear, and if I may be so bold to ask, why?

What would be a good price to pay?

UST? Great tyres. The saguaro is awesome.

They are heavy though. At my lbs they go for 480 za ronts right now, which is a bargain.

Don't tell me... You can inflate them from your computer......

What a silly, snide remark. If you have nothing constructive to ad to my sincere questions, please refrain from replying to it. Why not just point my typo out to me?

Would you fit them front and back? How about puncture resistance and mileage?

Not too bothered about the weight, my bike weighs 13.3kg as it is, a couple of gram is not gonna kill me at all.

It's a UST tyre not USB as you posted.

I don't like these at all! Just too heavy and don't have the performance or puncture protection to warrant the weight.

I rode them and loved them, pretty pricey though, think I paid about 600 bucks a tire.

I rode Saguaro on the back and Barro Mountain front.

I will ride them again

Realised that, typo corrected.

Thank you, that is the way the first reply SHOULD have responded.

I got a set of The Saguaro very cheap and tried them and they were good on hard ground but very liitle traction on mud or wet ground.

I prefered my Conti Mountain Kings Protection.

Geax is made by Vittoria tyres in Europe.

Im putting some on now - Saguaro/Mezcal front and Aka/Mezcal/Barro Mountain back.

The Aka aint great in the wet but superb in the dry. The Saguaro is grippier in the front than the Mezcal but if you`re not a super aggresive rider on your front wheel you could use a mezcal up front. Mezcal sticks in the corners but fast rolling on the flats.

The barro mountain is fast on the rear and better in the wet than the Aka but the Aka is faster in the dry.

They should go for around R 500 in most shops.

As for lifetime - prob the same as a Crossmark and that says a lot. One of the stronger sidewalls out there - as far as I can tell.

Hope this helps

I rode mezcals for a while, they were TNT though, dont know if thats very different to UST? Anyway, they are ok, not amazing though. I was quite disappointed with their grip. I'm also very glad I never punctured them as pulling them off a rim and putting them back on is mission impossible...

BeOne, not suggested then for wet/muddy terrain?

Looking for fairly cheap, but still good tyres for wet Cape winter riding.

What about Kenda Nevegals?

Not too expensive (R500.00 or so), but not all that light.

Apparently not all that fast rolling, but I dont race and dont care.

I have been enjoying mine - they feel much more robust than my Mountain Kings.
