Anti-Biotics

Recommended Posts

I've been up and down with flu/cold/sinusitis since before the knysna race. Its REALLY starting to annoy me now. Currently i'm on anti biotics to clear up the sinusitis.

Whats the general consensus with regard to training while on anti biotics?

the Docs normally say give it a week, ie after the anti-biotics are finished take a week before any form of exercise is re-started..... has got something to do with you immune system being a bit out of sync....

do not train above 60% for any reason when on antibiotics. Take it easy. very easy. Set training alarms ext.

Do not do train.

Your heart will explode if you do.

As frustrating as it may be - get into bed and stay there !!

Seriously - no work, no training - nothing !! Just vegetate.

Do this and by next Monday - you will be a raging bull again - your body needs a time out....

How would I damage my heart? I dont have flu - just a bacterial infection in my sinus - hence the anti-biotics. Do anti biotics put strain on the heart?

i think that's a question you should be asking your doc.

but why take a chance if it's only a week off the bike.

Exercising helps sinus !

As long as the infection hasn't got to your chest or lungs and you don't over do it.
