New bling seen in town

Ok, so it's mildly concerning that my hubbie, a non-rider, hangs out more at my LBS than I do. Put it down to my loooong work hours and the fact that he's a sweetie about dropping my bike off when I break it (or just bend it a bit).

Anyway, I get an MMS of a beautiful frame today: a full carbon Ibis Mojo weighing in at a mere 2.6kg!

Here are pics I stole from their website, Mikes Bikes are the first Jhb shop to stock them!

The Ibis is certainly one of those speciality brands that make you lust after that long travel carbon frame.

The frame weighs 2.6kg's not the entire bike  Wink

Although a full carbon frame, it still weighs approx 300g more than the Superlight's frame.

Beautiful bike but I would be too scared to take it into the veld.

And Mich, the amount of bruises you get I suggest you stick to your Commencal!!

Don't feel bad when you eyes wonder MichH.

Bikes generally play well together. Even if you put XC and DH bikes together or ali and carbon....they're very tolerant and don't mind the company.

They're actually happy for your extra stoke. Just as long as they're not neglected and get taken out frequently you won't have any jealousy-issues Wink

Even I've been lusting, but my bank manager said "NO WAY!!!!!!!!!" Cry

MichH, which shop sells these? I've only seen them in British magazines and they are quite expensive.

Okay, then I'll look at them in the mags.

For R19k I'll rather take one of Titus Ti's Ti Titus'. *huh* or an Elsworth.

So went round to my LBS yesterday afternoon for a bit of chinwag and what should be standing proudly in the window, you guessed it, the same Ibis Mojo.

Fully built utilising a 2008 Fox 140 RLC fork and 2008 Shimano XT groupset including brakes and rims.

So I took it for a ride.....

Wow, that is one really schweet and smooth ride. I really envy the person whose going to cough up the R42k to buy it.

Anyone want to buy a super bling SC Superlight ? Wink
