Pathetic SAS

I've never in my entire life (and I'm not young) seen such a pathetic system. This is something that is supposed to make things easier and is being forced on all whether you like it or not. Every single event I enter is the same ritual - I arrive to get my sticker, am informed that my board number is not on the entry, it gets written down, I get my board tested and off I go. I get a new entry on SAS for every single race. Same name, surname, ID and board number. I have send numerous emails, used the QUERY INDEX link, nothing, nada. Even on entering it says Board number not allocated. Try to get this fixed! So this got me thinking about a few things

a) Why do people insist on having Contact Us, Query This or Query That links on a site if they are not going to respond?

B) HTF with DB technology today do you manage to create duplicate records if you have numerous unique attributes i.e. ID number, board number? Even if I remove your complete brain the residue tissue left in your skull should be enough to use one unique constraint!

c) Why, oh WHY are people like this allowed to breed? If I have managed to get at least some response to my queries over that past few weeks (even a F YOU would do) I would say, yes allow them spawn one bastard but now! I say castrate them all. That gene must be eliminated from the pool even if it only lives in the shallow end where people piss.

Hi

SASeeding has had huge success this year, and we receive numerous compliments on the system. We do have some bumps here and there, but learn as we go – striving to better with each event.

With every seeded system you will have to go to receive a new batch sticker during registration– this process ensures that seeding is most accurate, and bottle necks are lessen and a greater ride experience created for each cyclist for each event.

I will gladly help you with your query, so please mail me your details to sas@advendurance.com. I personally answer all queries and complaints, so if you did send a mail, please be so kind to re-send it, as the only explanation that I did not process the query, is that I never received it.

SASeeding will sort out your query as soon as we hear back from you.

Regards

Carla

Did resend the email, AGAIN

And yes I understand how the system works and yes I understand why it supposed to be there and yes I do go and get a new sticker with every event and yes they do write down my board number everytime I collect my sticker and no it never gets fixed.

Carla the initial rant was written tongue in cheek (almost) but with all due respect how difficult can it be to resolve a recurring problem? I accept that something might be wrong with the first try. I raise the issue and we fix it but with every new event the problem starts with entering 'No Board Number Allocated' (or something similiar). I raise the issue it does not get resolved. I go collect my sticker. No board number on the list. No problem we write it down and fix it. NO I DO NOT THINK SO. Honestly this rant was my way of saying you know what? I give up. Fix it, don't fix it I don't care really. As I eluded to in my original post the system has an inherint flaw - you should not be able to have multiple entries for the same records if you have one or more unique parameters. In this case both my ID and my Board Number should be unique. Well this is SA so I might be mistaken.

Thanks for the response though, really appreciate it.

Your response to Carla, calling it "tongue in cheek", is maybe a good measurement of your character!! Only an IDIOT will use words like "HTF" and "Why, oh WHY are people like this allowed to breed?" then claim it was all "tongue in cheek"!!

Maybe you should not compete in these events if they cause you so much grief, or are you bitter 'cause you spend most of them riding in the back of the last bunch? I know training by oneself, due to a lack of friends is hard but slagging others openly, when events like these provide fun, entertainment and great opportunities for all, is just wrong!!

Take this any way you want, I have no motives(or tongue in cheeks)

Said matter will not be discussed further(amen)

Hi

Thank you for the mail.

I do not agree that the SASeeding System is at fault. Out of 15 000 riders, we have a 99.99% success rate. It is unfortunate that these things do happen - and event more unfortunate that you were one of the few unlucky ones who experienced this problem. We would also like it to work 100% - and looking into the matter.

I checked my mailbox, and regrettably I never received your initial mail. I do apologize that you had to ask a second time, but we are in the process to get your query fixed as soon as possible.

This is not only human error, so please be patient while we sort out the software glitch.

Regards

Carla

The only thing that I hate about this forum is that anything goes. I am convinced that TheHubSA will be much more efficient and have more users if guys like Chuck are banned!

All really good (big) forums have basic rules. Stick to relevant topics, ban personal attacks, don't allow blatant personal marketing and don't allow swearing or pornography!

Chuck, your comments are disgusting!

Carla, well done with your reply and for not lowering yourself to his level.

Someone please start moderating this forum!!!

Not sure that moderation would ever help, considering that it can only be moderated after it is reported. Also, seems that this is a good example of self-moderation. Supplier comes out looking great, the OP has been given a bit of grief for his rudeness. My personal opinion is that it was well self-regulated by the community and perhaps if there is another incident then Chuck may well find himself suspended.

I agree with the above, as a result I only use thehub for entertainment value. If I require any serious cycling information I visit some other cycling forums.

I had a problem with SAS registering me as having ridden a race (and not finished) when I didn't enter. I sent them a mail about it and it was fixed within 3 days.

OK mine was not fixed in almost 3 months. I have every single email I ever send but I do not have to use these to defend my actions. Suppliers, no matter who or what, need to do what they are contracted for. If I'm to be banned for speaking my mind about crappy service from a service provider then cool, I don't spend my life on the hub like most. Ironic that my first request was very PC and polite as it should be and even then nothing was done. Then eventually when I'm pissed enough I post one rant and I get an immediate response and my email is received immediatly? Weird world this we are living in.

Only reason the service provider comes out look 'good' is because all, except for my final action (the post), was not in a public forum. I fail how the fact that somebody has to resort to doing to to get any action gives the service provider hero status.

SO HOW ABOUT THAT BAN NOW PLEASE. How does it work? Will I be informed via email or will I just be rejected next time I log on? Is there a disiplinitary, written warning or is it one strike and you are out?

Ignore them, go on with your life Chuckie Chuck Chuck. If blowing your lid gets this resolved then the forum has served it's purpose. And if the supplier ends up looking good all the better. You all win!!

Chuck,

After your little rant/tantrum and SASeeding's (Carla's) quick, professional and courteous response.... Did you maybe consider the possibility that she never received your initial email?

I point to the fact that she did seem willing to help and that other Hubbers seem to have been assisted - referring to MTB_Josh and I recall this post as well:

https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/75812-nissan-mtb-diamond-rush/page__st__180__p__1101141#entry1101141

Then again, even if she did ignore you (despite your pleasant personality), your language to refer to fellow human beings is completely inappropriate. Absolutely no circumstances warrant such repulsive verbal abuse.

One last thing...

I've scrolled this forum up and down, but seem to be missing your apology to Carla.

Let this be a lesson to everybody. Just because you can sit behind the anonymity of the keyboard, does not give you a free pass to verbally abuse and insult others.

On a lighter note, who is up for same good riding this weekend !? :D :D :D
